jordans camry thread got a bunch of us posting our own numbers so i figured id put mine up too. mine is not a hybrid, its a 2017 civic ex with the 1.5 turbo, one owner, 70k on it when i bought it. i commute from the temple area up toward the metroplex a few days a week and work from home the rest, so i wanted something cheap to run that would not nickel and dime me.
found it on mainstreetmotortx.com last fall. their price was right at 2k under what the honda stores around here wanted for a comparable ex with more miles. i asked the corsicana lot for the service history and they had records showing the oil was done on time, which on the 1.5 turbo is the thing that matters most since these want clean oil to keep fuel out of the crankcase.
i had a shop look it over before i paid. only thing they flagged was the front motor mount was a little soft, which is a known civic thing and a cheap fix, and the cabin filter was due. neither one scared me off a car that clean. here is what a year and 33k miles of commuting actually cost me to run, for anyone trying to budget a high mpg commuter instead of guessing.

that is the honest year. nothing broke that was not a wear item, and next to what a new car payment plus the depreciation would have cost me, a clean used one off the corsicana lot was an easy call. every dollar of that gas spread over my old truck stays in my pocket now.
